RüKTECH’s polished cermet coating is our
brightest looking finish. It is similar in appearance to polished aluminum. This coating can withstand temperatures up to 1300°F and will reduce skin temps on pipes by about 30%. It is a coating that must be maintained for a nice finish, cleaned with soap and water. You can use any non-abrasive aluminum polish to bring out the shine if it ever gets dirty or dull. It also won’t blue or turn gold like chrome or stainless finishes. This coating works great on normally aspirated engines and any parts that need to have a high quality finish.

The RüKTECH Polished Cermet coating has superior corrosion protection. It is self-sacrificial and will not allow corrosion to develop, even when damaged.

One of the most important features of this Cermet coating is its ability to eliminate thermal fatigue and oxidation. Often mistaken for rust, thermal fatigue/oxidation is a problem caused by cyclical temperatures and hot gas impingement. These Ceramic Metallic (cermet) coatings retard oxidation and heat buildup, increasing the life of your component many times over.

Not only does this coating help
increase the life of your components, you will also see performance gains by helping to maintain the exhaust gas velocity through your exhaust piping. It will also lower under-hood temperatures, helping prevent that all too common heat-soak of parts.

This coating is available as an inside/outside coating, which is recommended, or we also offer it as an outside only coating, which is ideal for peace of mind with turbo-charged vehicles.

This coating can be applied to both new and used components, and is available as an upgrade on any RüKTECH products.

**Note: At temperatures above 1300°F the coating is still functional, but will begin to discolor or dull. It is recommended that your motor be broken in and tuned with the headers prior to coating, or with a different set of headers. Creating a lean or extremely rich condition with the newly coated headers can produce high EGT’s and accelerate the dulling process. Please make sure it is broken in and/or tuned prior to installation. If this is not possible, place a fan to direct airflow over the headers in an attempt to keep them from overheating. Please see example below of over temping your headers.

Upon first start up after installation of coated components, an out-gassing of the coating will occur, leading to an odd smell. This is normal and will only last a short period of time.
